I'm fascinated by the human form. It's why I'm so drawn to the genre of portraiture & figurative art.
To me, mapping the human landscape allows me to explore something unexamined about myself.
It's equally important that I respect the sovereign beauty within people through careful observation, and thoughtful mark making.
Additionally, I'm inspired by every opportunity to share ideas, and lived experiences between an artist, and her subject.
I prefer to take my time with portraiture studies. My drawings, sketches, and notes become a part of my visual research journal.
The best of my completed portraits reveals something true about each of my subjects, as well as something I didn't know about myself.
